Pócsai György 1972-ben született Szegeden. Orgonista családból származik, zenei élményeit először szüleitől tapasztalta meg. Kecskeméti gimnáziumi tanulmányai alatt rendszeresen orgonált a Piarista templomban és a Nagytemplomban. Ezekben az években kezdte, majd végezte el a Budapesti Nyári Kántorképző, majd a Továbbképző tanfolyamot, ahol tanárai Virágh András és Kopeczky Alajos orgonaművészek voltak. 1990. november 1-től a kiskundorozsmai Keresztelő Szent János templom kántora, az általa alapított templomi énekkar karnagya. 2020-tól a Szegedi Új-Zsinagóga liturgikus orgonistája.

György Pócsai was born in Szeged in 1972. Coming from a family of organists, he first encountered music through his parents. During his high school years in Kecskemét, he regularly played the organ at the Piarist Church and the Great Church. It was during this time that he attended and completed the Summer Cantor Training Course and the subsequent advanced course in Budapest, studying under organists András Virágh and Alajos Kopeczky. Since November 1, 1990, he has served as the cantor of the Church of St. John the Baptist in Kiskundorozsma and as the conductor of the church choir he founded. Since 2020, he has been the liturgical organist at the New Synagogue in Szeged.
