Homecoming melodies: World star soprano and a special family story in the New Synagogue of Szeged

hosts a unique cultural and historical event New Synagogue of Szeged
the internationally renowned Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich, onewill perform Chen Reisswhich showcases Italian joie de vivre and musical rarities "Bella Italia" concert, , is much more than an average evening program: the performance is also a deep, personal family homecoming.
Centuries-old roots of Szeged on the world stage
Few people know that the Israeli-born celebrated star, Chen Reiss, has inextricable ties to Szeged. His father, who is traveling from Israel to the city of sunshine with his relatives especially for this occasion, comes from a family with roots in Szeged.
The singer's great-grandfather was none other than Vilmos Fuchs, the former respected director of the Jewish school in Szeged, a renowned cantor teacher and prayer leader. Vilmos Fuchs trained cantors in the city for a long time, and with his wonderful voice he himself filled the walls of the monumental New Synagogue countless times. His grave is now in the Jewish cemetery in Szeged, and his spiritual and musical legacy is now returning for one evening through the voice of his great-grandson to the synagogue where he once served.
The audience will not only be part of a concert, but also witness a touching family reunion, where the past and the present are intertwined in the language of music. The concert brings to life the Mantuan melodies of Salomone Rossi, the Italian experiences of Felix Mendelssohn and the Sephardic roots of Castelnuovo-Tedesco in modern, exciting arrangements by Evgeni Orkin, conducted by conductor Daniel Grossmann. The New Synagogue of Szeged, designed by Lipót Baumhorn, which will host the concert, is the fourth largest house of worship in the world and has one of the most beautiful acoustics in Europe.
Tickets for the production, which can be seen for huge sums abroad, price of only 2,500 HUF are available
