Simon Bálint 1991-ben született Dunaújvárosban, de már pár hónapos korában Szegedre költözött a család, ahol édesapja a szegedi Dóm kántor-orgonistája lett. Nem véletlen, hogy a billentyűs hangszerek iránti szeretete már igen fiatalon megmutatkozott, otthon állandó zenei közeg vette körül.
Zongora tanulmányait hét évesen kezdte meg Dr. Szűts Istvánnénál, majd hat évvel később azzal párhuzamosan az orgonát Perneczky Balázsnál. Egyetemi orgonatanulmányait a Szegedi Tudományegyetem Zeneművészeti Karán végezte dr. Csanádi László növendékeként, amihez kapcsolódott egy szakmai év dr. Bednarik Anasztáziánál Vácott. Orgonatanári diplomáját 2018-ban szerezte meg. A kétévente megrendezett Szegedi Nemzetközi Orgonista találkozókon három alkalommal is arany minősítésben részesült, 2016-ban megosztott első díjat kapott, 2019-ben a Temesvári Nemzetközi Orgonaversenyről pedig egy 3. díjat hozhatott haza. Az ország több pontján adott már nagy sikerű koncertet, a szegedi egyházzenei élet egyik aktív résztvevője. A Szegedi Szimfonikus Zenekar kisegítő orgonistája.
Jelenleg a Lieto Alapfokú Művészeti Iskolában tanít zongorát, valamint a szegedi Szent Gellért templom kántor-orgonistája és zenei vezetője.
Bálint Simon was born in Dunaújváros in 1991, but his family moved to Szeged when he was just a few months old; there, his father became the cantor-organist at the Szeged Cathedral. It is no coincidence that his love for keyboard instruments manifested at a very early age, as he was constantly surrounded by music at home.
He began his piano studies at the age of seven under Dr. Istvánné Szűts, and six years later, he began studying the organ concurrently with Balázs Perneczky. He pursued his university organ studies at the Faculty of Music of the University of Szeged as a student of Dr. László Csanádi, a period that also included a professional year of study with Dr. Anasztázia Bednarik in Vác. He obtained his diploma as an organ teacher in 2018. He received a „Gold” rating on three occasions at the biennial Szeged International Organist Meeting, shared first prize in 2016, and won third prize at the Timișoara International Organ Competition in 2019. He has given highly successful concerts across the country and is an active participant in the sacred music scene in Szeged. He also serves as a supplementary organist for the Szeged Symphony Orchestra.
Currently, he teaches piano at the Lieto Basic Art School and serves as the cantor-organist and musical director of St. Gerard’s Church in Szeged.
